Proud to have our first "guest" devotion from Laney Phillips, a senior at Meek High School.
God has already done so much in my life. When I was about 7 years old everyone was talking about being saved and that when you were saved that meant you got to spend eternity in heaven and you had eternal life. As a little 7 year old girl death scared me so I decided that I wanted to be saved without truly knowing what it meant. But then as I got older I realized that there was something missing in my life. I did not know exactly what was missing until February 28, 2022. I was at revival that night and the Holy Spirit hit me and right then I knew that I hadn’t been truly saved until then. I understood the true meaning and that night I accepted The Lord into my heart as my one and only Savior. So, that is the biggest and most important thing that God has done in my life. He filled that missing piece in my life and gave me try happiness and joy.
There are other countless things that The Lord has done for me. He has provided me with friends and family that want me to grow in my salvation. He has provided me many opportunities in life and as this chapter in my life closes and I graduate high school I pray that he continues to give me opportunities. I have faith that whatever bridge I may have to cross God will be with me every step of the way. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” I think that no matter what if I do everything to the best of my ability and give all the glory and praise to God that he will provide for me.
Huge thank you to Laney for sharing her thoughts with us. I challenge you to follow Laney's example. Truly come to understand what it means to have a Savior and then share it with the world.
